Hi! Has anyone heard if the bill was passed in Canada yet for invitro fertilization to be covered by Medicare? I haven't found any info lately. Thanks!

Medicare?
And no, with all the cuts that have been made in the economy as of late, Im doubting they will pass that. Its a very expensive, lucrative industry, that Im sorry, tax payers should NOT have to foot the bill for.
Um...Im not sure how you figure we have medicare in Canada. You may need to be much more specific about the province you are in, as all have different 3rd party insurance companies/EAP's.
MEDICARE is an actual "brand" name of a type of insurance coverage in the USA. We have Universal Health Care in Canada, along with about 100 different 3rd party health care companies. Be more specific.

We don't have medicare in Canada, and I'm pretty sure you can't use American insurance in other countries for medical procedures, only emergency situations.
I know for a fact that In-vitro isn't covered for Canadians yet, a girlfriend of mine just put about $35,000 into in-vitro and happily, ended up pregnant with twins. There are many organizations that are still fighting to get this covered, since infertility is a medical problem.
Edit: I live in Canada, I've lived here my whole life, we have OHIP (Ontario Health Insurance Plan) which covers basically everything except elective surgeries (like plastic surgery etc), You can get secondary insurance for things like eyeglasses, dental etc, but I've never heard of Medicare in Canada, only in the US.

To the guy who reported, 'your classes are not miscarriages'. properly you're appropriate, classes at the instant are not miscarriages. yet what Arabmuslim is perceiving to be classes may well be miscarriages. it fairly is now commonplace for women to miscarry and not understand they did because of the fact it comes on the time their era generally might. yet Arabmuslim sister, there is a thank you to appreciate for confident if it fairly is what's happening. you ought to start monitoring your basal physique temperature to confirm if/once you're ovulating and how many days of a luteal area you have (the days from ovulation to bleeding). I advise you get the e book Taking cost of Your Fertility (in case you haven't any longer examine it already). 9 months isn't ordinary to be ttc, tell your expensive husband this. one 3 hundred and sixty 5 days is standard for many couples. In-vitro interior the states can run you everywhere from $6500-$8000 devoid of the medicine. the medicine can run $2000-$4000 reckoning on what and how plenty you choose. the 2nd cycle is typically somewhat much less in the event that they harvested adequate eggs interior the 1st cycle and that they have frozen them. if it fairly is the case you do no longer ought to purchase the ovulation drugs for the 2nd cycle. it fairly is achievable to get twins, triplets, quads, and greater with invitro. The preliminary point of an invitro being pregnant does look somewhat greater risk yet previous the 1st trimester data evaluate with organic thought. some states require insurance to conceal a minimum of partly invitro. Doing invitro overseas it a competent thought in case you might have adequate funds to be away for a on a similar time as. right here, Morocco, with the medicine the entire cost runs around $2500! fairly!

Medicare is a government issued insurance that would and should never cover the cost of fertility treatments. Think about it... if you have problems affording your own insurance and need the government to step in to pay for your healthcare, why would they turn around and pay for expensive fertility treatments that would possibly allow you to conceive babies that you obviously can't afford, paying for their healthcare via Medicare and also probably utilizing additional governmental resources such as food stamps, housing and childcare.
It would be like a never-ending cycle of taking from the government.... not smart.
