Question:
Has anyone ever convinced themselves that they were having a phantom pregnancy but they were actually pregnant?

I've read on the internet about phantom pregnancies, which is when a women thinks she's has the symptoms of pregnancy (even if she does actually have symptoms), so therefore she automatically thinks that she is pregnant. However I've read some people's comments on here and some people have all the symptoms I have and were actually pregnant.

I posted something on here last week asking people if they think I am pregnant. Based on the things I said to them like when me and my bf had sex and what symptoms I had, etc... Most people said I could be pregnant. I also talked to an online doctor (which you pay to use) and I told him what I said on here, and even he said I have a high chance of being pregnant.

But..... I'm starting to think to myself now that I'm not actually pregnant, and I am trying to convince myself that it's phantom pregnancy and that it's my mind tricking me into thinking I'm pregnant when I'm actually not, even though I had symptoms before I even thought I could potentially be pregnant.

What I'm trying to ask is, has any of you women or teenagers actually had loads of symptoms of pregnancy but thought it was a phantom pregnancy and that you didn't actually think that you were pregnant but actually turned out that you was?? Also what were your symptoms that you had??

Thanks guys! This would be a great help to me if you gave me some good answers!! :).

I think any woman trying to get pregnant can convince herself she is seeing the symptoms are so similar to PMS. Therefore, it's hard to tell the difference.

I recently had really strong symptoms, including very swollen breasts. I began wondering if i was having a phantom pregnancy too but a blood test revealed that I probably was pregnant as my hcg levels were 9. My period arrived and when I had a test a week later my levels were 2.

Yes this just happened to me recently actually, I'm 9 weeks pregnant now.

I have had about 3 phantom pregnancies before, and I got to the point where I was starting to think I was infertile or something because I've had multiple scares (All with pregnancy symptoms -- missed period, having to pee a lot, tender breasts, nausea etc)

I started getting symptoms maybe 3 or 4 weeks ago and didnt think anything of it, until i started getting very nauseous and I had constant nausea & bad vomiting for about 2 weeks (a lot worse than during the phantom pregnancy), and cramping I went to the gyn and it turns out I was 7 weeks pregnant.. the one time i was convinced i wasn't. I suggest you take a test just incase, so youll know while its early in the pregnancy.
