Due date woes...?

Here it is, my due date (yes I know it's just an estimate). I've been to L&D 2 times in the last week just SURE it was "time". Being my 3rd baby you'd think I'd know by now.

Anyways, Wednesday my doctor did a membrane sweep, last night was my 2nd time up to L&D and the 2nd time in a week they've had to send me home for lack of progress. Yesterday I called my doctor as requested to "check in" to see how things were going with me. Then he told me to call back this morning unless of course I was already in the hospital. I've called back this morning and waiting on his return call - he's in surgery for most of the morning.

I'm seriously beginning to doubt my ability to "know" when I really should go to the hospital. And I'm seriously getting depressed. I have medical issues that cause pregnancy to be quite difficult - and it's just getting worse. I want this baby OUT! Yeah, sure I could have 2 more weeks to go - but I don't think I can take another 2 weeks of this!

When I was pregnant with my first my due date came and I spent the whole day crying. I had been to the hospital the week before and just knew it was time and nope nothing, barely 1 cm dilated. When number two came I was sure I was leaking amniotic fluid and it was discharge. I am now pregnant with number 3 and the thing I have learned is when you get used to one thing another thing happens. For all you know instead of contractions you could end up with back labor, or your contractions might just start and you have the baby not to long after. Try to relax and realize that everything we "knew" with our last pregnancies might not happen here. Everyone makes mistakes and its better to error on the side of caution. Maybe if you are lucky you can convince your dr to break your water. I wish you the best of luck!

when he calls you ask for an induction if you realy want your lil one out but rember there is a reason the lil one is not out yet. When you go in to real labor its from a protien stimulat from the babies lungs letting momys body know that its ready to come out. Trust me i have medical problems too im only 32 weeks along and im like wishing like mad my lil ones lungs would finish developing! try getting out and going for a walk or a swim this may help with your mood or go out for a spicy dinner with the hubby tonight. good luck and i wish you and the baby a happy delivery

I know how stressful it can be to wait....Are you feeling the normal amount of movement..The baby becomes more quiet, when delivery nears..Although he stripped the membranes, some times they are tougher to rupture...As you time to deliver nears, the membrane thins out....Wait for your doctor to call..Tell him/her, you need to be checked again...Voice your concerns to him?her...You are paying for a doctors services, and you do deserve answers to your questions..Best of luck, with your labor and delivery...

if you have medical issues it might be a good thing to be induced-- and maybe your doctor can schedule an induction for this weekend even-- just ask hon and good luck!
