Hello there honey.
You know, there is a very good chance that you are not pregnant at all. At your age it is normal for your periods to be irregular and even to skip one once in awhile. Do you know when the first day of your last period was? Have you been using any kind of birth control?
It is true that a negative pregnancy test can be wrong but if you were that far along (15-16 weeks) it would NOT be negative, no matter how much water you drank. I do not understand why the doctor did not do a blood test. That would tell you for certain and you should have the results in one day. You see, the urine test is looking for the presense of HCG, the hormone that your body produces during pregnancy and to be as far along as you say you are the levels should be quite high. No amount of water is going to change that. If the hormone is present, the test will pick it up. What gives you a false negative is taking the test too early. If your last period was over three months ago there would have been sufficient amounts of hormone to make the test positive. It is really odd that even though the urine test was negative no further testing was done.
Why didn't the doctor do a physical exam? Did you tell him how long it has been since you have had a period? Why on earth didn't he follow up with a blood test? That would have been the thing to do. When ever the patients feelings and the tests do not concur then something else should be done. If you were my daughter I would have insisted on a physical exam and a blood test, possibly an ultrasound. There are just too many unanswered question here.
Have you been having any other symptoms of pregnancy? Are you nauseous? are you getting up at night to go the the bathroom alot?
You are actually pretty early to be feeling movement, especially with a first baby. We usually tell mothers to expect to feel something between 16 and 22 weeks, so you are ahead of schedule in that department.
I just hate to have you so scared and upset when there are still so many unanswered questions. If there is some chance that you are pregnant you need a blood test, an internal exam and an ultra sound. If you are as far along as you think you are there will be a clear image from an ultrasound and a clear heartbeat. Yet none of these things were done. There is something missing here.
Please make a telephone call to the doctors office and tell them what your concerns are, see what they say. If, for instance you tell them that you have not had a period in 15 - 16 weeks they ARE going to take it seriously and do some more testing. You need to go back to the doctor and get some answers. It is important that you find out one way or the other. If you are pregnant then you need to start taking really good care of yourself. It is essential that you eat well and take prenatal vitamins, but first you need some additional information. Call the doctors office and talk to the nurse if you can not get through to the doctor and insist on getting some answers. You have a right to know why you have not had a period for so long if you are not pregnant! I know this seems like a lot to deal with and you may want to get your parents to help you with this since they are aware of the situation.
Feel free to write to me if you feel like you have questions that you did not get answers to, I will be happy to help you.
Talk to your parents again and tell them what you have said on here, they love you and I know that they want what is best for you.
Take care honey and try not to worry. Everything will turn out for the best. Your best help here should come from your parents and you need to be honest with them and tell them what your concerns are. Talk to them about the things I have mentioned and they will surely see that more needs to be done.
I hope to hear from you.
Blessings
Lady Trinity~
