I'm going into my 17th week and things have been going smoothly. My symptoms have almost all eased. However, I've been wanting spicy, hot saucy food and I'm wondering how this affects my baby? I still eat plenty of fruits and veggies, drink lots of water, get my dairy products in, I'm still following that healthy diet regimine, HOWEVER, i've added taco salad to the mix, and now...it's taco salad with hot, hot, hot sauce! I've heard that what you eat goes into the amnotic fluid, will my spicy habit be okay for the baby? And I've been okay with the heartburn aspect, only had it in the beginning and I don't have it anymore...Advice, thoughts?

its definitly normal and the baby wont be affected at all if anything like you said it will make you have heartburn but if you can handle it no big deal. it will make your baby have hair they say lol but nothing harmful.

Spicy food is actually recommended near the end of pregnancy as it helps induce labor however at this stage it will have no negative or positive effects on the baby.
