ok so im paranoid, sue me. im 18 and my mom cooks all my meals for me. she says everything is all fine and cooked right but she likes things undercooked sometimes i know! she knows im pregnant by the way.

1) roast beef is allowed to be pinkish and a little red??
2) frozen foods like buffalo wings from tgif....they're pre-cooked so salmanila or however you spell it is cooked away right??

sorry im unexperienced in cooking and dont believe her when she says things are cooked fully but she is kinda ditzy. what happens if i dont eat meat thats cooked properly? and how undercooked does it need to be for me to get sick or anything? what can it do to the baby?

Roast beef is allowed to be pinkish and a little red. If it is a lot red and COLD in the middle, I'd probably avoid it.

Most frozen foods, like the TGIF wings are pre cooked so all you do is heat them up. You can always check the package. If it says that you need to cook them to an internal temperature of **degrees, you should do as the package says.

Your biggest undercooked food risks are pork and poultry (chicken and turkey). You should never eat those if they're still pink in the middle (pork MAY be pink if the seasoning you put on is red, like paprika. It could possibly be the seasoning.) You do take the risk of getting sick from those. If you do get food poisoning, get in to see your doctor. They'll make sure you don't get dehydrated and that the baby is fine.

Congratulations on your baby!

Most meats they sell at the store will have a label on the pakage telling you how to cook the meat safely by making sure it reaches the right temperature. Pre-cooked meat has to be heated to a specific temperature also to avoid bacterial contamination. You can buy a thermometer at any grocery store for very little money.

Roast beef and Steak is usually considered delicious when its not all the way done but chicken and stuff like that should always be well cooked and pregnancy I'm considering don't take a risk of uncooked meet when you get a kid on you IMO
