I only had the discharge you mention with my first, and then I thought I wasn't pregnant. Wrong! LOL No discharge with the second child. Both healthy births. Each of us is different. The best person to ask might be your mother or grandmother, if available. Genetics do play a role.

You shouldnt be assuming you will have a bloody discharge, it is not a normal symptom of pregnancy. It is common during implantation and when the uterus is stretching. However, discharge with blood in it can signal infection and miscarriage, so dont go hoping for it!

The discharge you are supposed to have - that just means an increase in everyday discharge, it should be clear or creamy and can increase alot during pregnancy. Always be wary of any smell or blood in discharge and go straight to a doctor. Mention any concerns to your midwife, im sure everyting is just fine.

Congrats!

It's not normal to bleed or have brown discharge during pregnancy, and I certainly wouldn't be hoping for it. It does happen, but it usually means there is a problem. You should have discharge but it will be clear or white. You're fine.
