First of all let me say....I am SUPER surprised that you are in the state you are and able to post on Yahoo Answers...... Man when I was in labor I couldn't consent rate on anything but the pain and my husband.

Most women don't get a big gush at all, and some just pour out. Each woman is different and each woman has a different amountembryonicotic fluid, which is what the "water" is.

Good Luck!!

There has to be another reason why you would need a C-Section. You are at the doctors office and obviously in good hands.

Did the doctor just send you home? I am confused. I have never heard of doctors breaking your water in the office?? I always thought they did it in the hospital. Someone would monitor that. Anyways...when they broke my water it did not gush all the way. The blood may be like a mucous plug ? or maybe just irritation if you have a sensitive cervix. My water just kinda trickled and sometimes when I moved a certain way more would come out. If you are really concerned I would call the doc or go to the hospital.

A gush will not mean that you are going into labour. It would just mean that baby shifted. It's still possible to go into labour without baby shifting at all. Right now, baby is putting lots of pressure on your cervix, and that's far more important. Some babies are born with the amniotic fluid still intact, so don't think this is an all or nothing kinda deal. It might still happen. Just rest, and stay calm. Think thoughts about your cervix opening up and the baby slipping out. Tell her about all the wonderful things that are waiting for her once she gets out.

Good luck! I hope things progress soon.

I'm not clear what you are asking or what your situation is.

You don't need to have a 'big gush of fluid' when your water breaks, and not having it doesn't mean you have to have a c-section.

But why did the doctor break your water in the first place? If you aren't already in labor, I'm at a loss to understand why he would do it.

I AM concerned about all the blood -- there should not be blood in amniotic fluid.
