I made a baby registry out online at babies r us. I check on my registry often. However, how does someone buy something that's on my registry and have it say "purchased" on my registry?

I know, it may be a dumb question, but I've never done a registry before.

Do they just print out my registry and take it to the store and then they mark it off? lol

The person can walk into the store and ask/print out the registry or print it out on their own computer at home beforehand. Then they go in and pick out what they want. They take it to the cashier and give the cashier your registry number/barcode located on the printed out registry and they will scan it. All items that were bought, that were located on your registry will be marked as "purchased". On babiesrus.com registry , the right open box with the little number 0 in it(showing "0" purchased) is where you would check to see if somethig was bought. It will then turn to either a "1" or more depending on how many of the item you wanted. Good luck and I hope this helped.

They can print out the registry from the web or from a kiosk in the store. When they make a purchase, they'll present the item + the registry so both can be scanned.

I didn't go with this store so I don't know if this is an option, but places like Target let you mark an item as received in the event the buyer didn't take care of that part.

Why not register at both? I know in our area, there is only one B'r'Us, but several Target stores. You can find some of the exact items cheaper at Target and maybe you can put some non-baby things on the registry like a camera. With a registry, it is easy to return gifts.

They can view your registry online, and purchase directly online and have the item sent to you, or they can go instore to purchase. At checkout they will be asked if this is an item off a registery, if they say yes, they will log it in their system and update your registry for you.

They go in, give them your name and shower date.

They print out your registry and they shop. It is removed off your registry at the register once its purchased!

When they pay at the register, they inform the clerk that it's a registry item, and they give the clerk a copy of your registry. The clerk makes sure your info is updated.

if they buy off your registry online it will automatically say purchsed, if they print it and bring it to the store when they check out the cashier will ask if it is for a registry you say yes they take the number and boom it gets accounted for.
