Silly Question... About Cervix and Pregnancy?

This is a rather silly question, but something that has been bothering me. How come they tell you during late pregnancy "don't check your own cervix as you can introduce germs and cause infections" but it's completely ok to have unprotected sex during the end of pregnancy. Aren't you more likely to introduce germs and infections from your partners penis rather than you are your own fingers (which should be clean and germ free when checking your cervix)? I don't know - it just doesn't seem to make sense to me. Maybe someone can shed some light on this for me.

The dirty under your nails can scratch your cervix introducing bacteria which can spread to the uterus and baby. That is just one reason the OBGYN told me. A penis wouldn't have a dirty nail on it to scratch you.

Ha nope, good question. Infections can result from unclean penises. However the vagina creates a bacteria to help protect from infections. Too much or too little of this can cause an infection on it's own!

At 36+ they check me every week. Also the internals can bring on labor. When there is no real reason to have a check, then why do it? At 40 weeks if you still haven't had your baby they will want to see what's going on, but before that, it doesn't predict a darn thing.

Your cervix dialates so the infant can pop out of the uterus. Your vagina can stretch to limits you on no account concept accessible. in spite of the undeniable fact that it won't stretch till the infant's head is initiating to crown. it somewhat is accessible to tear, so because it somewhat is why some females choose an episiotomy. it somewhat is a lot greater basic to stitch up a rapidly line than a jagged tear. additionally, while you're allowed to tear (some medical doctors think of tearing is greater proper, i do no longer comprehend why) you are able to tear each of how from one hollow to the different! it somewhat is fastened yet you're starting to be numerous stitches!

During the end of your pregnancy you must also make sure your partner is very clean. We grew accustom to taking showers before sex to be safe. Who knows what is right here though.

Your hands are in contact with everything and your partners penis is not. So therefore, his penis has less germs.
