Question:
Does this mean something is wrong with the baby?

The doctors office called and said I needed to come in Wednesday to go over the blood test results. I asked them if everything was okay or if something is wrong and they said the doc said "Just to get you in"

What does that mean? Is there something wrong? I can't stop crying as I sit here typing this I'm so scared.

What could be going on?

And if something wasn't wrong they probably would have called to say everything is fine or they would have just gone over this at the next appointment, right?

Somethings wrong isn't it?

And how am I supposed to remain calm until Wednesday afternoon?

Should I be preparing myself for bad news? Or could it be nothing?

This is regarding blood work taken at my first visit

Calm down. How far along are you? Add in that info. I can't imagine what could be wrong with blood work from about 10 weeks, which is how far I think you might be. The only thing might be your iron level?

Did you have a sonogram? Did you hear the heart beat? Once you hear the heart beat the odds of there being something wrong are slim. Calm down and gather your facts before you go flying off the handle. I would also call the Dr.s office back and tell them flat out: "I am an emotional wreck, and can't wait until Wednesday for you to tell me there is something wrong with my baby, so you either get me in there today or have the doctor call me on the phone because my blood pressure is shooting through the roof and it is all being caused by you people!

They are use to pregnant women being totally witchy and uunreasonable trust me.

Call them now, don't sit in agony for 2 days.

I really feel for you, I can only imagine what you are going through right now. To be honest you could have been called for any number of reasons, the blood results will be for so many different things at this stage, blood group, STDS, down syndrome risk factor, protein levels etc, but these may all be fine and you may need to go in for something else entirely, possibly to have another test as the first was inconclusive.

A doctor would not necessarily call to say everything is ok, but they would try to rush you in or get you to a hospital if anything was seriously wrong.

It seems ridiculous to leave a pregnant woman so stressed for two days, but try to relax, because no news is good news, and they are happy to leave you until wednesday because there is no emergancy...

Good luck, and try to stay calm. Your baby will feel your stress so take a long bath, listen to some chill out music and get some friends or family over tonight. x

Don't stress out that is not good for you or the baby. The blood work that was taken first test for all STD's and for your blood type. It could be by some chance you have an STD that you didn't know about this happens sometimes they have a way of not showing up in girls sometimes. Also you could have a rare blood type that is going to have to make you get a shot to protect you next time you get pregnant. i really don't think that it is something really serious if it was they would have asked you to come in right now. Just relax and stay as calm as you can. Everything will be ok. Good Luck

To be honest you need to either call your doctor or go up there and let them know how bad that stressed you out that he really didnt give you any info on the phone bc it isnt good at all for you to be so stressed, just make the call, all it is is a phone call and it will probably make you feel a little better to have some kind of idea what is going on, im sure its nothing though.

i would say there is likely something they have found in your blood but dont be worried - it could be something as simple like being rhesus negative which can be treated with injections throughout your pregnancy, if they are calling you in, then u can pretty much rely on the fact that its something they can treat and they want u in to discuss how you would like any problem they have found, to be treated..

dont worry about it at all - i'm sure there's nothing majorly wrong!

Ya know, they may have found something that affects you and not the baby. And that can be treated easily. If it were anything terrible they would not make you wait 2 days. Pregnancy can be so scary sometimes. Hang in there, I'm sure your little peanut is fine! :)

i would prepare yourself for some bad news but it is not something as bad as you think it is because they would not wait 2 days if it was something terrible...so i wouldnt be crying your eyes out just wait to see what it is.

don't jump to conclusions until you find out if there is anything really wrong i don't think there is it could be something simple as your blood is low so don't worry until you find out
