If a baby is failing to thrive in utero and stops growing, or if the fluid level is low, the usual thing to do is to induce labor. I don't know how they handle it in the UK, but generally a failure to thrive issue isn't cured by anything other than delivering the baby, so I can't imagine they would do much differently there.

I am not familiar with those abbreviations - perhaps it meant "Not Engaged"?

No water! and a few toddlers can decide for days without "going". Her gadget in basic terms isn't waiting yet. As for the colic, i've got by no ability heard of that colicfac stuff. try gas alleviation drops in the toddler or medicine portion of the drugstore. that is possibly what's incorrect along with her. because she would be able to't poop yet, she's getting gassed up and then she gets cranky, consequently the colic! And ask the rfile approximately switching to a formulation for lactose intolorence...it would help save the gas situation at bay. Is she spitting up lots? if so, try holding her upright for greater or less 20 minutes after feeding...this might aslo help with gas and colic!

"Understanding how genes control brain cell migration, proliferation, differentiation, and death, and how radiation, drugs, toxins, infections, and other factors disrupt these processes will aid in preventing many congenital neurological disorders.... Recent studies have shown that the addition of folic acid to the diet of women of child-bearing age may significantly reduce the incidence of neural tube defects. Therefore, it is recommended that all women of child-bearing age consume 0.4 mg of folic acid daily."

I would immediately follow the eating plan at www.blueribbonbaby.org to give this baby the optimal nourishment in the womb, especially for the remaining time.

The tape measure is wrong quite often because of the number of positions your baby can take in the womb at any given time. Your midwife is saying that the baby's head is not engaged, which means not ready for birth.

The scan does not accurately record estimated due date, weight or size of baby. Nor can it determine the amount of amniotic fluid, placenta or baby.

Stay calm and call your midwife again to clear up your concerns as they arise. Don't wait for the next appointment to talk to her.

Remember first-time mother's need up to 42 weeks, (dated from the first day of your last period - not ultrasound dating) and longer to prevent prematurity. Your baby, in particular, will need all the time in the womb you can give. Best wishes, G

NE means not engaged meaning the head is not into the pelvis yet.

Usually we allow for +/- 2cm for the fundal height so it looks like she is just being over cautious here. The scan will be able to tell if baby has stopped growing in which case they will likely induce you now. If you have been feeling plenty movements from baby then try not to panic!

I wouldn't worry until the scans are done. I never measured larger than 32 weeks. And I had a 7lb 7oz baby at 40 weeks 3 days. She was just hanging out really low. And the funny thing is that one day the OB who was supposed to see me was really backed up so I saw the only MD who wasn't an OB in the practice and he's the one who explained to me that she was really low. And he took my fingers and had me feel my belly just above my pubic bone. I could feel her jaw bone it was so cool.

So Good luck, and it's probably just a position thing.

I have no idea what that mean, but I am in the same situation as you are and I am due june 28th, not to far from your due date but, my doctor said the I am 36 instead of 38, which I know when I concieved and the last cycle I had. I think your baby is going to be jus tfine, please don't worry to much

NE means "not engaged" - the baby's not dropped yet, basically.

in the last few weeks of pregnancy, the measuring thing really gets messed up. my daughter went from measuring 38wks at 34wks, to measuring 29wks at 35wks, lol. the only reason being she decided to flip sideways. the following week she was 36wks, which is the only time EVER she actually measured what she "should" have.

go see a real doctor

an OBGYN

midwives are only nurses not doctors and some midwives dont even have degrees and have only taken a couple of classes in pregnancy , labor and delivery

Get the scan

if the baby is not growing you may be induced or be able to schedule a cesarian section
