I have been using the Patch for 3-4 years. Lately I have become inconsistent and change my patch days later than normal. I had my period, although it wasn't as heavy as it normally can be. Prior to my period and even now after the period, I noticed my breasts felt bigger and were a little tender. Sometimes, I get this sick feeling and feel all hot. Also I have had this gush of mucus discharge happen to me twice the past two days. Some other different things I've been feeling is that my hands are shaking a lot and I just had my period a couple days ago, yet I am still having menstrual-like cramps.

So my question is, with all these things I've been feeling and the factor that I was inconsistent in changing my patch, yet I have had my period, is it possible I am pregnant?

Could the body be so used to the patch, that even though it could be pregnant it still carries on normal functionality?

I was on the patch for 7 years and I just came off of it a couple of months ago. It was hell!! My hormones did not know what to do. My period was late and I was having all kinds of pregnancy-like symptoms just like you're having. However, I had my period that very next week. I went to my Dr. after having a negative pregnancy test and she told me that I was probably just having a hard menstral cycle that month because I was coming off the patch. This month has been a lot better!

So, if you think you might be pregnant, I would stop using the patch immediately and take a test. If you're negative, wait until your period is "late" and then take another test. If it's still negative, I would go to your doctor and she what they say.

I believe there are pending lawsuits over this. Apparently it's not as effective as the pill. And you're obviously having side effects. Check with your doctor. If you've been going to a clinic I would suggest a one-on-one with a private ob/gyn.

The symptoms you are describing sound more like symptoms of your body withdrawing form the patch. To be on the safe side I would contact my dr. if I were you.
