I'm not sure what "wedies" are, but if you mean "wedgies", then the answer is absolutely YES.
Diapers sometimes get stuck in a child's bum when they are moving around a lot, and it can cause serious leakage!

Do you mean wedgies? If so then yeah my daughter used to alwasy get wedgies with her diaper. Funny I know but sometimes I would see her and her diaper was up her butt on one side. Usually when dad puts it on.
