Pre-surgery blood work is -

CBC: The Complete Blood Count

Chem 7: The Blood Chemistry Panel

Liver Function Panel (Liver Function Tests, LFTs)

PT/PTT/INR (Coagulation Study)

Arterial Blood Gas (ABG)

They can determine your general state of health from the above tests

Your pre-opt appointment is where you will sign all necessary paperwork prior to surgery, your Dr. will go over all the risks involved, will make sure you understand exactly whats to take place and for you to ask any questions before hand

based on the reason of the abruption....i could get a 2d opinion ASAP. i'm at present 38.5 weeks with my third on the age of 31. My first became nautral (age 17) and my 2d became an emergency C (age 23), via placenta abruption led to via shifting a marble coffee table the evening until now (pay attention while they say do no longer advance). i became fortunate, as i became interior the scientific institution while the actuak abruption surpassed off (presently after my water broke). i became given a "classical" C and toddler became in simple terms superb..because of the fact of a marvelous team of drs. This time, the physician has no longer been worried. The ultrasound confirmed no signs and warning signs of abruption and each little thing has stepped forward many times (so a strategies). i became given the alternative for organic or cesarean delivery and characteristic chosen the C (scheduled for next week). I certainly have never as quickly as been instructed i could die, and the possibility of a 2d abruption is decrease than 20%.

When I had my scheduled C-section w/ my son everything was done that morning when i arrived at the hospital (about 7:30 am)

The nurses make sure you are very comfortable and are super nice... but they tell you not to eat or drink anything 12 hours before the c section

Congradulations

Everything will be fine' arrived @ the hospital @ 7:30am & at 9:30 am my baby boy was here & healthy w/ no complications

They already know your blood group. They just check you are ok and check your blood pressure and probably do a scan to see what way baby is lying and where the placenta is, nothing to worry about. Good Luck.
