So I had a sonogram at 19 weeks and was told by the doc that my baby was measuring two weeks behind. However the doc did not mention seeing any thing else wrong with my baby. Well my test for chromosome abnormalities came back low risk but the doctor still recommended I see a genetic counsoler. I told her no, I would just like to wait for the follow up exam 2 weeks later. So two weeks later I go back and I have a different doc and different tech. Anyway the tech notice that I looked scared and ask me why I told her what happened last time she looked confused and said that my follow up was because my first tech was unable to see all parts of the baby due to his position and I was not here because the baby looked small I asked to speak to the different doc and he looked my baby over he said that he is small but only by about a week and that is normal and he does not know why the first doc even recommended seeing a genetic counsoler. Well can any one explain to me how two different doctors and two different techs had two different opinions. I'm freaking out I'm now 37 weeks and have a sonogram Thursday and I hope that I wasn't stupid for listening to the second docs opinion about my baby being fine

Not all babies will fall into the doctors length expectations & that's perfectly fine. They are simply that, "estimations" you don't know for sure how big the baby really is. Plus babies come in all sizes this doesn't determin if the baby is healthy or not. Your due date may be wrong. Why are you even worried? They said he's healthy everything is present and accounted for you should be more than happy! Size is just a number. My baby was small as well & her weight was a little under 6 lb, was fullterm born on her due date she was small but very healthy!

I had an Ob Gyn (Dr.H) that told me i needed to see a specialist because my babies brain hadnt formed the correct way. I worried for two weeks! Two weeks!!! I had my ultrasound yesterday at the new specialist and during the ultrasound she says nothing is wrong with the baby's brain and says that the only problem is the baby is only measuring a week behind and I was told that I was having a little girl !

So now that I got two different answers from two doctors in the same office. I'm going to a completely different pratice to get a final answer. I would believe the second tech and doctor especially because you were only there because they couldnt see the first time. Don't freak out too much right now. All you can do is wait and see

They probably have your due date wrong and that's why he or she is smaller. If the chromosome test came back low risk everything is probably fine.
