Question:
Can a girl get pregnant by two guys at the same time?
2007-12-29 16:50:28 UTC
I was talking with my friends and one of them said that if a girl has sex with 2 guys at the same time, like both penises in her and both ejaculate in her at the same time, that she can get pregnant with twins that one will be the child of one guy and the other will be the child of the other guy. Is that true?

Okay, yes she sure can. And she doesn't have to have sex with both of them at the same time. That's just silly. Sperm can live for 72 hours. If she has sex with more than one man within 72 hours and ovulates releasing two eggs, she can get pregnant by both. Which is actually not as hard as it may seem, when you consider that if sperm from another man are present, they get competitive. Even if she only released one egg, she would have a greater chance of concieving b/c of the sperm competing

I'm curious about how 2 men could fit into one girls vagina at the exact same time...maybe I'm not creative enough to realize how to make that work.

**TO answer the question.

Not only is it possible for fraternal twins to have different fathers, it’s on the medical record books. This official medical term for this phenomenon is heteropaternal superfecundation.

The classic case was recorded in 1810 by John Archer, the first doctor to receive a medical degree in the U.S.

Sperm cells can live inside a woman’s body for four to five days. Once ovulation occurs, the egg remains viable for another 12 to 48 hours before it begins to disintegrate; thus, the fertile period can span five to seven days.

Dr. Lawrence B. Werlin, founder and director of the Coastal Fertility Medical Center in Irvine, Calif., explains, “If the twins are fraternal, where two eggs (ova) are fertilized by two sperm and produce two genetically unique children, then one baby could be slightly older than the other. In addition, if a woman ovulates, releases two eggs and has intercourse with two different men, the eggs could be fertilized by both, resulting in fraternal twins with distinctive fathers.”

Historically, superfecundation has been difficult to prove, due to the crudeness of the blood-type testing methods. However, in 1978, Dr. Paul Terasaki of the UCLA School of Medicine reported in the New England Journal of Medicine that he and his colleagues had conclusively established a case of superfecundation using a sophisticated procedure called tissue HLA (or human leukocyte antigen) testing. Potential paternity-suit litigants, take note: This technique can also be applied to more conventional cases.

It is possible if she released 2 eggs. The guys don't have to ejaculate at the SAME time, just before the first guys fertilized egg implants itself, the second guy has to fertilize her other egg...it could be even 2-3 days later at the most and still happen.

Sad and gross, but true.

Yes it can happen but it doesn't have to be at the same time,if a women ovulates two eggs(the lifespan of an egg is 24 hours) and has sex with two different men within twenty four hours, each egg could potentially be fertilized by the different men.

Its only true in the rare occasion that she would have dropped 2 eggs while ovulating and even then it wouldnt be 50/50 IF both were fertilized because it could be 2 sperm from one man or 1 of each

Yes it is possible ... My moms best friend isa twin and both girls have two seperate fathers and yes DNA testing has been done to confirm this not to mention they look absolutely nothing alike

BUT only with twins a single child would be impossible unless is it a Chimera (two eggs do not seperate properly and make one baby) but that is highly unlikely and most Chimera die very early on or the effects are bad....

1 egg + 1 sperm = 1 baby (unless the egg splits later, but still one daddy)

2 eggs + 2 sperm = 2 babies (could be a sperm from each guy hence different daddies)

Maury Povich had a show about this and yes..one woman had a set of twins..one turned out to be one guy's and the other was another guy's. It happens.

well i suppose in theory that could happen, if the woman released two ova (eggs) that monthly cycle. and the two men would not necessarily need to actually have sex with the woman at the same time either, as sperm can live for up to four days. thus, the woman could fall pregnant from one man as early as 4 days BEFORE she ovulated, then have intercourse again with a second man two days after she ovulated, the second egg would still be viable and sperm from the second man could fertilise it.

You can only have twins by releasing two eggs and that is rare . I know factually that animals like cats can be impregnated by more than one other cat but then cats almost always release several eggs at a time. I really doubt it would work.

Even if it is possible, the chances are astronomical. They'd both have to ejaculate at the same time, she'd have to release two eggs, and 1 of each sperm would have to get there.

It's happened but it's rare. The mother wouldn't have to have sex with them at the same time, though- that would be painful LOL

???? ?????I think your friend watches too much porn!!! I must admit it is an interesting question tho, I would guess that it's possible but that chances must be like 1 in 80 billion....i'm sure one of the guys little divers swim faster than the others...
2007-12-29 16:58:56 UTC
wtf....? first off how does someone fit TWO penises inside them? secondly... the only way someone will have twins with two different babies is if she ovulates 2 times and the 2 different sperm each get an egg. otherwise, no that won't happen. that's gross anyways...
2007-12-29 16:59:46 UTC
not in one egg. most sperm die swimming their way to the egg and only one can penetrate the egg and then the egg will not accept anymore unless you have twins(separate egg)

Beside being extremely freaky your friends are VERY IGNORANT!! What they think would be funny if it was not absolutely ridiculous! Once the egg is fertilized it immediately puts up a barrier to block all other sperm. And no she could not possibly have one twin from one man and one from the other.

And sorry to say this but you don't seem very smart either to believe this!

No not at all......Well actually, if she has two uteruses then yes she can, but I have only heard of 1 medical phenomenon like that.
